Individual Therapy

My orientation is relational and psychodynamic. That means I'm interested in more than what's presenting as the problem. I pay attention to what's unconscious, recurring, and hard to name — the patterns that show up across relationships, the self-assessments that run on quietly in the background, the ways that old experience continues to organize current life without announcing itself.

This isn't a skills-based or protocol-driven approach. There's no workbook, no structured curriculum, no weekly homework. What there is is a genuine relationship — over time, with continuity — in which what is usually unspoken can gradually become visible and workable.

That process requires patience. It also, done seriously, produces change that doesn't evaporate when the stressor passes.

Who I Work With

A significant portion of my practice is made up of people who work in film, television, and the arts in Los Angeles — writers, directors, actors, producers, people whose professional lives involve high visibility, creative pressure, and a particular kind of relational complexity that doesn't fit the standard therapy narrative.

I also work with high-functioning professionals more broadly: people navigating career transitions, relationship stress, burnout, loss of meaning, or the particular disorientation of having built what they wanted and finding it isn't what they thought.

And I work with men in midlife who are asking harder questions than they've been willing to ask before — about intimacy, about purpose, about what they've been carrying and why.

Getting Started

  • I offer a 30-minute zoom consultation (no charge) before we begin. This is a chance to talk briefly about what's bringing you in, answer any questions you have, and get a real sense of whether working together is a reasonable fit.

  • Format: Weekly or twice-weekly sessions, 50 minutes

  • Location: Primarily telehealth across California. Limited in-person availability in Ojai.

  • Insurance: I work on a private-pay basis. I provide a monthly superbill for clients with PPO plans who wish to seek out-of-network reimbursement. Many PPO clients are reimbursed 50–80% of session costs after their deductible is met. HMO plans typically do not offer out-of-network reimbursement.
